For all of us who are stressed out and stretched thin. Battling tummy bugs and much worse… trying to disinfect more than just floors but the filthy mess of our own bad attitudes, for everyone like me trying to resist the sinful tendencies of our hearts and failing. For all the weak, fretful, fearful people there is Jesus.
Jesus whose body was stretched thin on the cross.
Jesus who remedied all our sin so we don’t have to. For all of us there is Jesus and the believers trust His sacrifice. He is the end of our stress, he is the conclusion of all our seeking to make ourselves clean with filthy rags, because He is our Way of repentance.
So we can trust God to sort us all out and fix us up, He remembers we are dust. And He dusts sin right off of our souls because sin is not fitting for a son.
He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Psalm 23:3
We know He would be right to blow us all away but instead He gave His Son our sin and dealt to Him our blows, so we rest secure. Believers…blown not by wrath, but by the Spirit of God. This is the Gospel that resurrects our dead hearts. Jesus died and rose again and since a servant is not greater than his master so must we follow in His steps. Take up your cross and follow….
Our freedom will always be inextricably tied to our willingness to die to sin and live to God, denying the flesh all victory and so giving all glory to God.
Jesus made it so we can stretch our hands straight up to heaven and touch the very heart of a Father who hears us who moved heaven itself to bring us back.
