The beautiful refreshing season of Advent has crept into our days. The feasting of November giving way to the anticipation of Jesus in our December.
We’ve broken bread together and remember that Christ broke open the virgin womb and would break Himself on the cross, so that we could partake of forever life. Living bread is always best.
We are decking our halls and He is coming to set our hearts right with His Father. The moment of His birth waited upon from the dawn of the ages. At the fullness of time He came forth, clothed with deepest humility, adorned with the fullness of God dwelling within all 6, 7, 8 or so pounds of Him. And my heart pounds for his return along with the prophets of old who yearned to see His first appearing. The season has come and we remember the anxious waiting for Messiah. The season pressing us to now long for His soon coming return.
What we need this season is to open our hearts wide to receive Him, more of Him, so that our hearts may be wise to adore Him.
O Come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant… Come let us adore Him. Christ the Lord.
