The Lord is near. Apart from God, our thinking can be so faulty. The thoughts of God are what that set us free. It is His Word in us that renews our minds and redeems our days and helps us to know what in the world we are supposed to be doing.

The nearness of God is our good but why? He is the One we were created for. He is our reason for being. So to be near Him is to our incomparable good. The Sustainer of all things brings us near to Him. Our mouths should stand agape… Our hearts should race…

Our minds scarcely comprehend the Creator who is forever blessed, blesses us and the most precious gift He ever gives is Himself…

And He offers Himself fully. We can be full of Him. Just as the fullness of God was pleased to dwell in the person of Christ, the fullness of God the Holy Spirit is pleased to fill those who trust Jesus. You can quench the Spirit; you can grieve the Spirit, or you can receive the fullness of the Spirit of God.

You are never alone.

The truths of God warm the cold spaces in our hearts, because our God is near always near… because He loves you. You can only be near and intimate with God, because He loved us to death… literally. There is no closeness without the blood, no forgiveness of sins without Jesus offering. It is not a light thing that we can boldly approach the throne of grace in time of need. It is a miraculous thing that God our Father has done through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit. The Gospel is greater than us. It overcomes us and how wrong we are even when we do not see His grace for what it is… our freedom… the path of our reward. To lose your life is to gain it, it’s paradoxical yet true. It’s happiest place to live. When God Himself holds you, you’re not alone, you’re safe and secure and all the rest is just icing.
